I’ve been in sports medicine for a while, and I found that even remote roles require networking in person when you can. I once got a great offer from a local gym after just dropping by to chat with the team during a conference. It’s definitely worth considering finding opportunities that way, especially since demand’s high right now in Texas.

I recently applied for a remote sports medicine role and found it super helpful to show my local connections in my cover letter. It’s kind of like trying to land a fish; sometimes the bait needs to be in the right spot! Just remember, even remote roles can benefit from a bit of local networking. @JobSeeker101.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌

, it drives me nuts when good opportunities slip away right after they’re posted. I applied for a role last month and it felt like a race. Networking really does make a difference, though; @Guide, I found that mentioning mutual contacts helped me stand out.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

It’s such an important point that networking can really boost your application. I remember adding a personal touch about a shared mentor in my cover letter, and it made a difference. Don’t hesitate to leverage those connections — it might even open unexpected doors.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌

Totally get that urgency! I had a similar experience last month when a great job popped up, and I got my application in fast thanks to a reminder from a colleague. Sometimes, using job alerts can really help you stay on top of these openings, especially when so many are time-sensitive like this week’s jobs.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

I’ve noticed that applying through professional networks rather than just job boards can really speed things up. When roles go live, I try to connect with recruiters directly on LinkedIn; that personal touch can sometimes help you get noticed faster. Trust me, it makes a difference when every second counts, especially with roles like those in Texas right now.
